My name is Kate Warner. I am a qualified teacher providing literacy tutoring in the heart of Bath. I work with primary school students in my home in the Newbridge area.

About me

I offer private literacy tutoring to children attending primary school - Key Stages 1 & 2. Students come to work with me in my garden office – a quiet, light and airy space.

My experience and qualifications:

  • Degree in education (2.1 B.Ed) from Bath Spa University.
  • Primary teacher across all year groups - fourteen years
  • Preschool teacher – six years
  • Literacy support teacher – two years (current position)
  • Dyslexia training
  • Experience working with children diagnosed with ADHD and autism
  • Enhanced DBS check certificate through my current school work along with my own private DBS certificate. I'm happy to share these on request.

Helping children to “read between the lines” and become more analytical readers

Syllabification

Using dyslexic strategies to aid the spelling of tricky words

I strive to develop a positive relationships with students and create a safe space. This allows pupils to learn from mistakes, develop confidence and achieve success.

I carry out an initial assessment to discover those areas where children need the most support. The skills they develp will boost their confidence in the classroom and in their Year 6 SATs.

I charge £35 for each hourly session which normally takes place once a week. Payment for all sessions is to be made at the start of each term.
